Alexander Lamont's New Collection

Alexander Lamont is known for finding inspiration in his surroundings as well as the cross pollination of a life spent between Asia and Europe.  His very creative point of view mixes the ancient and the modern and the east and west.

Featuring precious materials such as bronze, shagreen, straw marquetry, parchment, rock crystals, gold leaf and natural lacquer he sculpts these into furniture, accessories and products that are art for the home as well as the collector.

Mr. Lamont’s latest collection comes from his fascination with jewelry and sculpture as an inspiration for furniture design.  His pursuit of the combining of texture and rare materials have brought forth this melding of the two into a rare combination that gives the consumer a feeling of buying a treasure to cherish.  According to Mr. Lamont,”Searching obscure references for flashes of inspiration, for details that spark off ideas, is like being a treasure hunter, rather than a designer.  It’s probably what I would liked to have been at heart.”

The Vesper's console and low table were inspired by stone setting in Jewelry.

The Magnificent Mirror is a braclet of interlocking parts that reflect and play light.

The Bague Spot table has a subtle oval form with a round, inset 'precious' surface.
