Somritwood Dash Table

DEmark Award (Design Excellence Award) for Furniture 2012 won by Somritwood.

Somritwood is a manufacturer in Thailand who wanted to produce furniture from Rosewood scraps because there were many of them and they considered it such a waste.  The scraps were flat and short but very strong.  Their idea was to produce modern furniture from flat rosewood which would utilize the scraps but could be knocked down easily for transport and could also be easy to reassemble.

Their product is called the “Dash Table.”  For their ingenuity of design they were awarded the DEmark Award for 2012.
