Cotton International 2012 Global Summit in Thailand

ITMT President Mohammad Calls for Collaborative Solutions

Bashir Ali H. Mohammad

Keynote speaker, Ali H. Mohammad is looking to the Cotton International 2012 Global Summit as the perfect place for a face-to-face forum where professionals can discuss their challenges and work together to find solutions that work for everyone.  This years Global Summit will take place in Bangkok, Thailand from April the 25th to the 27th.

According to Mohammad, president of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) and Chairman of Gul Ahmed Textiles, the global economy is at a crossroads, poised to either continue its gradual comeback or once again slide backward. The key to pushing it forward in a positive direction, he says, is collaboration and jointly developing solutions that work for the entire supply chain.

"The global economy stands in such a fragile state that it is delicately balanced between a slow recovery and a second slide, which the experts bill as a ‘double dip’ recession,” Mohammad says. “At this junction, it is important to sit collectively, analyze the current scenario, and jointly consider various future strategies.

“The Cotton International 2012 Global Summit in Bangkok provides a timely opportunity and a conducive platform to exchange views while discussing different ideas on how to navigate through these uncertain times,” he says. “Gaining a better understanding of each other's challenges is a prerequisite to overcoming obstacles and paving the way for a successful future."
